It appears that a complaint was received by Wordpress about a particular blog hosted by Nibblebit. The blog complained about was not Smutty Stuff.
Wordpress deleted all Nibblebit blogs including the back-ups.
Smutty Stuff and most other Nibblebit blogs have been able to reclaim our URLs so you know where to find us - blogrolls, RSS feeds and Favourites listings should all still bring you to your favourite blogs.
It’s just that there’s absolutely nothing here - we are having to re-build our blogs and that’s going to take some time.
I don’t blame Nibblebit for any of this - I blame whoever decided that because one blog was judged to be at fault then all blogs had to be deleted. It appears to be the action of a bully.
It reminds me of a school where, because one boy faulted on his work, all the boys were punished.
I see you are restarting; that’s good. I have an additional problem, my password doesn’t work anymore on jako2000.nibblebit.com, and I don’t receive the emails to change it! Inbetween I have started reconstruction with an other nibblebit adress I had. I am trying to contact nibblebit to recover my previous url. If I lose all the links, etc.. i don’t know where I will restart my blog.I have mailed to support@nibblebit.com, I don’t know if this is the right adress to solve my problem. If you know another one please let me know. My reconstruction might take some time as I am very busy at the office.

@ J - unfortunately, although we do not know where the complaint came from, it seems it went to Wordpress, despite the blog being hosted by Nibblebit on Wordpress’ servers. It was Wordpress who pulled the plug on the whole of Nibblebit - my guess, but it is only a guess, is that Wordpress were angry with Nibblebit for some perceived lack of regulation or guidance. Given the blog concerned had been running for some months without apparent problem . . . Well, I think you’re right!

Yeah - I saw your message on Smutty Stuff’s C Board and followed up straight away. I’ve now left a long message (sorry!) but it’s a complicated subject! I hope it helps and do hope you’ll find a formula to stay blogging with Nibblebit so that we can co-operate further and enjoy it again!
Glad you see you back! Sorry to hear about all this but hopefully things will work out better now.
I’m not sure why you are blaming WordPress though. WordPress is just the publishing platform, not where things are hosted. If you want to blame someone blame the hosting provider for deleting everything or Nibblebit for not keeping backups.

Welcome back, Micky. Glad to see you are restart and going strong so quickly. Like you, I’m going to stick with Nibblebit for now — but if it happens again, who knows. At least we were able to re-used the Google Friends connect accounts so that followers didn’t get lost!

Happy to see you’re back up and running, Micky, as well as many of the other Nibblebit blogs. I’m not quite as happy with them, or willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Got an email from them this afternoon telling me that they didn’t think the pictures I had on my blog (shirtless teenagers…no porn, at all) weren’t really appropriate and asked me to delete them. I did so, but, sent back a rather terse comment about going too far in the other direction…and, 15 minutes later, my blog was deleted.
Had there been ANYTHING questionable, I could understand it. But, there were 9 pictures on the re-done blog…all of teenagers from the waist up…all wearing pants….*nothing* sexual.
I’ve moved to Tumblr…and, if that goes away, I’m done.

David - purely personally those pictures are fine by me.
They are not fine in the view of the UK law makers (as I understand it).
If I were to have copies of those pictures or to link to them that could, I am sorry to say, possibly be used against me.
